Founded by an experienced educator and child development professional dedicated to supporting families of children with special needs.
I'm Jessica Massey, and I am the founder of ThriveTogether Respite Network.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development from Sacramento State and a Master's degree in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. Throughout my career, I've worked in roles focused on supporting children, families, and communities but what has always stood out to me most is the level of care and commitment families give every single day.
My passion for this work is not only professional it's also deeply personal. In 2023, my youngest daughter was diagnosed with Autism, and that experience has shaped my understanding in a whole new way. It has been a journey of navigating assessments, adjusting to changing IEPs, and advocating to ensure she receives the quality care and support she deserves. Like many parents, I've faced moments of uncertainty wondering what the future may look like, while also holding onto high expectations for what she can do. Through that journey, I've learned how important it is to have the right support system, people who not only provide care, but who also see the potential in your child and don't limit them based on assumptions. I understand firsthand the balance of wanting your child supported, while also ensuring they are encouraged, challenged, and given every opportunity to thrive.
In working with and alongside families, I've seen how much is carried behind the scenes, the constant advocacy, the emotional energy, and the need to always be "on." While that love is powerful, it can also be overwhelming without the right support.
ThriveTogether Respite Network was created from that understanding. It's built on compassionate, trust, and flexibility, with the goal of helping families find balance while knowing their child is in good hands.
My hope is to create a space where families feel supported, and can take a step back when needed, and where no on feels like they have to do everything on their own.
At this stage, ThriveTogether is led directly by me, with plans to thoughtfully grow into a network of trained respite caregivers as we continue to serve more families.
